# Platform 12 ADR pack: media-pack production guide

## Purpose

Produce a standardized, rights-cleared pack that lets every student complete the same guided workflows while retaining creative choices in the capstone. Large media is distributed by the institution; this repository contains the brief, manifest, checks, and assessment materials only.

## Required content

Picture reference, guide dialogue, production audio, script, line list, cue spreadsheet, room-tone options, character notes, delivery specification, and intentional sync faults.

Expected storage: Approximately 4 GB including picture and production audio.

## Production requirements

- Create all source media specifically for teaching or secure a license permitting classroom redistribution and student portfolio use.
- Retain contributor releases, music and sample licenses, location permissions, and creator credits in 01_ADMIN/rights.
- Preserve authentic metadata, timecode, sample rate, channel layout, slates, reports, and filenames required by the taught workflow.
- Provide untouched source media, a checksum manifest, an instructor reference project, and a verified reference output.
- Keep faults intentional, reversible, documented in an instructor-only key, and absent from the untouched originals.
- Test all media and projects on a clean institution lab account with network access disabled after download.
- Do not include private personal information, real confidential production data, or assets whose license depends on a student-owned account.

## Intentional fault fixtures

- M1-F1: Create a reversible fixture demonstrating "Window burn and counter drift gradually". Instructor resolution evidence: Check frame-rate mismatch, variable-frame-rate picture, pull settings, and picture transcode properties.
- M1-F2: Create a reversible fixture demonstrating "Guide is consistently early or late". Instructor resolution evidence: Verify timestamp placement, first frame of action, two-pop, and any known editorial offset before sliding clips.
- M1-F3: Create a reversible fixture demonstrating "Performer hears distracting delay". Instructor resolution evidence: Reduce buffer and monitoring plugins, use low-latency or hardware monitoring where approved, and remeasure the path.
- M2-F1: Create a reversible fixture demonstrating "Cue numbers change during revision". Instructor resolution evidence: Keep IDs stable and mark status or version separately; never renumber all later cues after a deletion.
- M2-F2: Create a reversible fixture demonstrating "Beep timing encourages clipped first words". Instructor resolution evidence: Check pre-roll, performer latency, and the exact implied fourth beat; allow a natural lead-in where the performance requires it.
- M2-F3: Create a reversible fixture demonstrating "Cue text disagrees with picture edit". Instructor resolution evidence: Confirm the current locked picture version and log the discrepancy before recording.
- M3-F1: Create a reversible fixture demonstrating "Headphone mix feeds back". Instructor resolution evidence: Check open microphones, speaker muting, talkback routing, send pre/post state, and performer headphone isolation.
- M3-F2: Create a reversible fixture demonstrating "Recorded level changes between takes". Instructor resolution evidence: Check performer distance, preamp movement, clip gain accidentally printed, and any automation or plugin on the record path.
- M3-F3: Create a reversible fixture demonstrating "Take contains beeps or guide". Instructor resolution evidence: Trace bus assignments and physical loopback; solo-safe monitoring paths must not feed the record input.
- M4-F1: Create a reversible fixture demonstrating "Performance becomes mechanical". Instructor resolution evidence: Stop chasing frames, restore scene context and objective, capture a free take, then shape timing from the stronger performance.
- M4-F2: Create a reversible fixture demonstrating "Take names and cue log diverge". Instructor resolution evidence: Pause, reconcile the current cue before recording more, and use a single operator naming convention.
- M4-F3: Create a reversible fixture demonstrating "The performer strains to match effort". Instructor resolution evidence: Recreate physical posture safely, use breath and movement cues, reduce repeated high-effort takes, and schedule recovery.
- M5-F1: Create a reversible fixture demonstrating "Lip sync looks correct but feels late". Instructor resolution evidence: Inspect consonant onset, picture-monitor delay, guide offset, and whether the actor anticipates the visible mouth movement.
- M5-F2: Create a reversible fixture demonstrating "ADR sounds too close". Instructor resolution evidence: Revisit microphone distance first, then reduce proximity, high-frequency detail, and direct-to-ambience ratio carefully.
- M5-F3: Create a reversible fixture demonstrating "Time processing creates artifacts". Instructor resolution evidence: Return to alternate takes or smaller region-based moves; process sustained vowels rather than consonant attacks where possible.
- M6-F1: Create a reversible fixture demonstrating "Consolidated clips lose useful source handles". Instructor resolution evidence: Follow the turnover specification for handle length and retain the full recorded session in the archive.
- M6-F2: Create a reversible fixture demonstrating "Cue sheet points to the wrong take". Instructor resolution evidence: Reconcile by stable cue ID and audition; never infer from playlist order alone.
- M6-F3: Create a reversible fixture demonstrating "Recipient sees a picture offset". Instructor resolution evidence: Compare picture checksum, frame rate, start timecode, first frame of action, and timestamp before moving audio.

## Release checklist

- [ ] Starter project opens without missing media or third-party dependencies.
- [ ] Every module can be completed from the supplied pack and documented lab configuration.

- [ ] Accessibility alternatives exist for any task that depends on hearing, vision, fine-motor input, or timed performance.
