# Glass City Atmos stem pack: media-pack production guide

## Purpose

Produce a standardized, rights-cleared pack that lets every student complete the same guided workflows while retaining creative choices in the capstone. Large media is distributed by the institution; this repository contains the brief, manifest, checks, and assessment materials only.

## Required content

Lead vocal, backing vocals, drums, percussion, bass, guitars, keys, synths, ambience, effects, stereo reference, lyric sheet, arrangement map, mix notes, and ADM delivery brief.

Expected storage: Approximately 18 GB after copying 48 kHz/24-bit consolidated stems.

## Production requirements

- Create all source media specifically for teaching or secure a license permitting classroom redistribution and student portfolio use.
- Retain contributor releases, music and sample licenses, location permissions, and creator credits in 01_ADMIN/rights.
- Preserve authentic metadata, timecode, sample rate, channel layout, slates, reports, and filenames required by the taught workflow.
- Provide untouched source media, a checksum manifest, an instructor reference project, and a verified reference output.
- Keep faults intentional, reversible, documented in an instructor-only key, and absent from the untouched originals.
- Test all media and projects on a clean institution lab account with network access disabled after download.
- Do not include private personal information, real confidential production data, or assets whose license depends on a student-owned account.

## Intentional fault fixtures

- M1-F1: Create a reversible fixture demonstrating "A student equates height with quality". Instructor resolution evidence: Return to musical hierarchy and compare a focused static placement against constant movement at matched level.
- M1-F2: Create a reversible fixture demonstrating "Binaural and speakers disagree". Instructor resolution evidence: Treat them as different renders; inspect object positions, binaural modes, decorrelation, phase, and room-dependent cues.
- M1-F3: Create a reversible fixture demonstrating "An object appears to vanish in a downmix". Instructor resolution evidence: Check level, masking, phase, divergence, routing, and the selected re-render rather than assuming metadata failed.
- M2-F1: Create a reversible fixture demonstrating "Object controls are unavailable". Instructor resolution evidence: Verify the track output, object mapping, renderer mode, supported track width, and object assignment.
- M2-F2: Create a reversible fixture demonstrating "Signal sounds twice". Instructor resolution evidence: Check simultaneous bed and object feeds, sends, live and printed paths, and monitor returns.
- M2-F3: Create a reversible fixture demonstrating "A monitor format is silent". Instructor resolution evidence: Trace renderer output selection, monitor path, hardware output, and lab controller state without changing calibration.
- M3-F1: Create a reversible fixture demonstrating "The mix feels empty at the front". Instructor resolution evidence: Restore strong frontal anchors and evaluate whether too many supporting elements were moved away simultaneously.
- M3-F2: Create a reversible fixture demonstrating "Stereo downmix becomes narrow or hollow". Instructor resolution evidence: Inspect phase, decorrelated widening, surround contribution, and low-frequency routing.
- M3-F3: Create a reversible fixture demonstrating "Height feels detached from the song". Instructor resolution evidence: Use shared timbre, ambience, or section logic and reduce isolated overhead novelty.
- M4-F1: Create a reversible fixture demonstrating "Object jumps at a boundary". Instructor resolution evidence: Inspect automation breakpoints, coalescing, clip boundaries, suspended parameters, and the value immediately before the transition.
- M4-F2: Create a reversible fixture demonstrating "Movement is obvious on speakers but absent binaurally". Instructor resolution evidence: Review path, binaural mode, trajectory speed, spectral content, masking, and whether the cue relies mainly on vertical localization.
- M4-F3: Create a reversible fixture demonstrating "The chorus is bigger but less focused". Instructor resolution evidence: Restore anchors, reduce simultaneous motion, and separate width/envelopment from focal level.
- M5-F1: Create a reversible fixture demonstrating "Integrated values differ unexpectedly". Instructor resolution evidence: Confirm render selection, complete duration, meter reset, trim/downmix settings, and whether monitor control alters the measured path.
- M5-F2: Create a reversible fixture demonstrating "Mono loses a central element". Instructor resolution evidence: Inspect polarity, stereo widening, decorrelation, object/re-render assignment, and shared processing.
- M5-F3: Create a reversible fixture demonstrating "Binaural playback is tiring". Instructor resolution evidence: Reduce persistent near-ear movement or brightness, revisit binaural modes, and create calmer spatial rest points.
- M6-F1: Create a reversible fixture demonstrating "ADM re-import has missing elements". Instructor resolution evidence: Compare object mapping, active paths, export range, mute/solo states, unsupported routing, and export log.
- M6-F2: Create a reversible fixture demonstrating "Re-render does not match live monitoring". Instructor resolution evidence: Confirm source session version, renderer state, trim/downmix, re-render definition, monitor-only processing, and bounce selection.
- M6-F3: Create a reversible fixture demonstrating "Master tail is truncated". Instructor resolution evidence: Extend the explicit export range for reverberation and object automation returns, then re-verify all deliverables.
