Leopold Damrosch Mannes (1899โ€“1964) co-devised Kodachrome with Leopold Godowsky Jr. A concert pianist from a distinguished musical family, he worked on colour photography from his schooldays, joined Kodak with Godowsky in 1930, and delivered Kodachrome in 1935. He later returned to music and became president of the Mannes College of Music.
